World Autism Awareness Day: Understanding and Support

World Autism Awareness Day: Understanding and SupportВсесвітній день поширення інформації про аутизм: Розуміння та Підтримка

World Autism Awareness Day was initiated by the proactive people with ASD, their families, and support organizations, including Autism Speaks, and the Qatar Mission to the United Nations. The idea of this day was initially proposed at the UN General Assembly in December 2007. The first World Autism Awareness Day was marked on April 2, 2008. Since then, events have been held every year to raise awareness and support for people with autism around the world.

Autism is a disorder of nervous system development that affects a person's perception of the world and social interaction. This day reminds us of the importance of embracing diversity and supporting all people. The main aim of World Autism Awareness Day is to reduce the stigma surrounding the topic of autism and to promote understanding and support for people with ASD. It is important to support their individual needs and provide opportunities to develop their abilities in all areas of life.

The prior task of our society is to create a friendly environment for people with autism, where they can feel accepted and have opportunities for self-realization. World Autism Awareness Day is a reminder for each of us to reexamine our notions of normality and human diversity, and to show support and recognition of the dignity of each person.
